India's U19 cricket team has been a powerhouse in the cricketing world, clinching the U19 World Cup title a record-breaking five times. Let's take a look at the journey of the captains who led these victorious campaigns and where they are now.

All Indian Under-19 WC winning captains

It all started in 2000 when Mohammad Kaif led the team to its maiden victory. Kaif, known for his agility on the field, has retired from active cricket and currently serves as an expert coach with the Delhi Capitals and also showcasing his mic skills in the field of broadcasting.

In 2008, a young Virat Kohli guided India to their second U19 World Cup triumph. Kohli, now a cricketing icon, is the former captain of the senior Indian cricket team and represents RCB in the IPL. At present Virat Kohli is on temporary absence from the cricket field due to personnel reasons.

Unmukt Chand, another Delhi lad, captained the team to victory in 2012. After a successful domestic and IPL career, Chand has moved to the United States and has retired from Indian cricket. He might be seen representing the United States in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Prithvi Shaw, the captain in 2018, led India to their fourth title. Shaw, currently recovering from a knee injury, continues to play for Mumbai in domestic cricket and represents the Indian team as well as the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

The latest addition to this illustrious list is Yash Dhull, who led India to victory in 2022. Dhull, a middle-order batter from Janakpuri, Delhi, showcased his talent with a remarkable century in the semi-final. Presently, he captains his home team in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 and represents the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

These captains have not only brought glory to Indian cricket but have also carved their own paths in the cricketing world, inspiring the next generation of players.
