The Global Super League clash between Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and Hampshire on Sunday was laden with breathtaking moments. While Guyana sealed a four-wicket win, it was Bangladesh speedster, Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s absolute peach of a delivery that left everyone talking.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s Jaffa Stunned Ali Orr in GSL

Right from the start, Hampshire found themselves in trouble, thanks to Sakib’s magic. On just the fourth ball of his spell, Tanzim Hasan Sakib delivered a gem. It was a good-length ball that nipped back sharply.

Ali Orr, trying to clear his leg and slog, was completely bamboozled. The ball zipped through the gap and clattered into the middle stump. Orr had no answer and walked back for a duck, leaving Hampshire at 5/1. Sakib’s roaring start was just what Guyana needed to put the pressure on early.

While the top order crumbled, Shan Masood held his ground. The left-hander looked in sublime form, smashing a classy 79 off 54 balls. He played some glorious strokes, finding the boundary eight times and clearing the ropes twice. Masood looked like he could single-handedly save Hampshire.

But then came veteran Imran Tahir. The leggie trapped Masood in his web, luring him out for a big hit. Masood missed, and the keeper whipped off the bails. He didn’t stop there, taking two more scalps to finish with figures of 3/18. Despite a late cameo from Toby Albert, Hampshire managed only 146/6 in their 20 overs.

Guyana Stumble But Recover In Time

Chasing 147, Guyana didn’t have the best start. Kevlon Anderson fell early, and Shai Hope followed him the very next ball. Suddenly, Guyana was 18/2, and Hampshire sniffed an opening. Moeen Ali and Shimron Hetmyer tried to steady things, but the wickets kept falling.

Roston Chase then stepped up, playing a calm knock of 33 off 26 balls. He held one end while Hassan Khan upped the tempo with an unbeaten 27 off 18 balls. Gudakesh Motie chipped in with a quickfire 16 off 10, and Romario Shepherd finished things off in style with 11 off five balls.

Guyana Amazon Warriors chased down the target in 18.2 overs, showing their depth and composure under pressure. While Tahir’s spin show was brilliant, Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s jaffa to dismiss Orr was the highlight of the night.
