Rising England star Will Jacks recently shared insights into Virat Kohli's massive impact on young players following their time together at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Jacks, who teamed up with Kohli this season, highlighted the veteran's influence on and off the field.

The 25-year-old batting sensation and Kohli produced a standout performance this IPL season, stitching together an unbeaten 166-run partnership against the Gujarat Titans.

In this remarkable innings, Jacks smashed a lightning-fast century off just 41 balls, which included a whirlwind 28 runs from a single over bowled by Rashid Khan. This propelled RCB to a staggering 9-wicket victory after chasing down a target of 200.

Reflecting on Kohli's influence, Will Jacks acknowledged the veteran's incredible commitment that extends beyond the cricket pitch.

He admired how Kohli leaves no stone unturned in his preparation and approach to the game, setting a gold standard for dedication and intensity.

"He's a very good role model. The way he approaches all the training and every aspect of the game off the field, his intensity, everything he does is a 100 percent attention,” said Jacks.

According to Jacks, witnessing Virat Kohli's tireless ethos in action stirs a desire to emulate such discipline, especially when the going gets tough.

"He's done it for such a long time and I can appreciate that as a young guy who often doesn't want to do the hard yards, but you see him doing it and want to copy that,” added the prodigious batter.

Meanwhile, despite missing the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals, Jacks had an impressive season, scoring 230 runs in 8 matches at a strike rate of 175.57, including a century and a fifty.

Jacks is now gearing up for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, where he will aim to translate his IPL form onto the international stage.

With his cricketing journey at the international level still in its infancy—featuring just two Tests, seven ODIs, and 12 T20s—Jacks will aim to leverage his IPL experiences under Kohli's mentorship to make a significant splash on the global stage.
