Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) snatched their third IPL trophy with an emphatic eight-wicket triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) final in Chennai, turned into a one-sided affair as KKR bowled SRH out for a paltry 113—the lowest total ever in an IPL title clash. KKR's chase was a walk in the park, as they raced to 114 with over nine overs to spare, spearheaded by Venkatesh Iyer's blistering 52 not out off 26 balls.

However, it was Ambati Rayudu's sartorial flip-flop that left the fans and commentators alike in stitches, adding a tinge of colour to the post-match proceedings.

Initially seen cheering for the Sunrisers in an orange waistcoat, Rayudu was quick to swap it for a blue one as soon as the Knight Riders sealed their victory.

The commentators’ panel, featuring cricket icons Kevin Pietersen and Matthew Hayden, was abuzz with banter as they took jibes at Rayudu's quick change act.

Pietersen, never one to mince his words, labelled Rayudu a "joker" on-air during the post-match show.

He ribbed, "Thank you for bringing out the fact that he changed from orange to blue," a remark that host Mayanti Langer acknowledged with a chuckle.

Pietersen, donning a purple dress himself, added, "I've at least held firm. I wore it and I owned it. You are a joker, always a joker."

Caught in the crossfire, Rayudu responded with a grin, "I am supporting both the teams. I am supporting good cricket," displaying his diplomatic charm.

While KKR's formidable performance with the ball and Venkatesh Iyer's explosive half-century were the technical highlights, Pietersen’s humorous branding of Rayudu as a 'joker' added a memorable twist to the celebration.
