Bangladesh is close to exiting the ICC T20 World Cup after a 50-run loss to India in Super 8 round. If Australia beats Afghanistan in the next game, Bangladesh will be out of the tournament, making their final game against Afghanistan a dead rubber.

Najmul takes dig at BAN batters

After the loss Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto highlighted the lack of a killer instinct among the batters during the powerplay.

"We were thinking about 160-170 when we put them into bat, but they batted well so credit to them. [on the weather and wind] I don't think that is an issue, the players are habituated to that. We did not show as much intent as we needed with the bat, when we are chasing 190, we needed to show more intent especially in the first six"-said Shanto after the game.

The repeat of the 2007 ODI World Cup did not materialize in Super 8 game of India Vs Bangladesh. India comfortably defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs in the second super 8 game of both teams.

Bangladeshi fans were hoping for a repeat of their 2007 ODI World Cup victory on West Indies soil where Bangladesh beat India. But this time Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav powered India to a decisive win.

Indian batters put up a solid 196-5, with Hardik Pandya scoring a top-class fifty.  Apart from captain Najmul Shanto's 32-ball 40 and Rinshad Hossain's quick 24 off 12 balls, no other Bangladeshi batter posed a challenge to the Indian bowlers. Both Shanto and Hossain's wickets were taken by Bumrah.

Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in their last game of Super 8 of ICC T20 World Cup.
