[Watch] Matthew Wade Misses 'Easiest Stumping Of T20 World Cup' To Deny Zampa A Wicket

In what could be a defining moment in the match, Matthew Wade missed a simple stumping off Adam Zampa’s bowling to give Rahmanullah Gurbaz a lifeline in the ongoing Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup between Australia and Afghanistan.

The 13th over of the first innings was a dramatic one. Zampa started with a wide before being smashed for a six by Gurbaz. The Afghan opener then survived a close call as Australia lost the DRS in order to overturn a decision.

On the next delivery, Gurbaz went down the track. Seeing Gurbaz come out, Zampa tossed it up full on middle-leg, looked like a wrong-un again and it went through

Gurbaz was beaten comprehensively, but unfortunately for Australia, Wade just didn't collect it cleanly and the chance went begging.

It was a well disguised delivery by the wily Australian leg spinner but he didn’t get the support of his wicket-keeper.

Having being given a reprieve, Gurbaz cashed on the opportunity as he completed his third half-century of the ongoing T20 World Cup

In the next over, Ibrahim Zadran also completed his half-century, but, in the same over, Marcus Stoinis dismissed Gurbaz as Australia got their first breakthrough after 95 balls.

This wicket put an end to a 100-plus run partnership between Gurbaz and Ibrahim. Zampa, who was unlucky not to get Gurbaz’s wicket, bagged two wickets in his final over to finish another sensational spell with figures of 2/28.
