South Africa have continued their unbeaten run in the T20 World Cup. They defeated defending champions England in the Super Eight game by 7 runs.

It was Anrich Nortje who became the savior for South Africa, taking the crucial wicket of Harry Brook, who looked dangerous, in the first ball of 20th over.

Nortje overtakes Steyn's T20 WC record

With Brook's wicket, Nortje set a record of his own. Anrich Nortje is now the Proteas bowler with the most wickets in T20 World Cup history, overtaking the legendary speedster Dale Steyn, who has 30 wickets.

Nortje has 31 wickets from 16 T20 World Cup games at an impressive average of 10.96 and an economy rate of 5.58. Dale Steyn, an all-time great of South Africa in all formats, has 30 wickets at an average of 19.30 and an economy rate of 6.96 in T20 World Cups.

Nortje, who holds the unique record of taking a wicket in all 16 T20 World Cup games he has played for South Africa, extended this record with Brook's wicket. Credit for Brook's wicket also goes to captain Aiden Markram, who took a fantastic catch.

Semi final qualification scenario of group 2 in Super 8

South Africa, with four points, are in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals, but they must defeat West Indies in their final Super 8 game to confirm their spot.

West Indies, who won today against USA, is also in contention for a semi-final spot. With England also competing for qualification, the semi finalists will only be determined after the last game of super 8.
