Bangladesh emerged winning side in a low-scoring match against Nepal in the T20 World Cup. Batting first, Bangladesh managed to score just 106 runs.

Nepal, struggling to chase the small target, fell short and ended their innings at 85 runs. As a result, Bangladesh won the game by 21 runs.

This was the lowest total ever defended in a T20 World Cup game. While Bangladesh's bowlers were spectacular, the same couldn't be said for their batters.

Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Sakib was named player of the match for his exceptional performance, taking 2 wickets for just 7 runs in his 4 overs, including 2 maidens.

After batting first, Bangladesh was at least 20 runs short, but the pitch favored the bowlers, and Bangladesh's bowlers exploited it well, especially Tanzim Sakib.

Najmul Shanto criticises Bangladesh batters

After the game Vs Nepal, Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto highlighted the lack of contributions from the batters.

"Yeah, obviously, we are really happy with the way we have performed in this first qualifying round. Hopefully, we keep continuing with this superb bowling performance, but not with this batting performance. We need to improve a lot on that front. We have everything, all the fast bowlers have worked really hard. That's why we've played some good cricket."- Shanto said after the game.

With the win, Bangladesh has qualified for the Super Eights. They are now in the group alongside Australia, India, and Afghanistan.
