In a significant development, Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs in their final group-stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024 to enter the Super Eights. 

Despite posting a modest 106-run total, the Tigers were clinical with the ball as their exceptional team effort restricted Nepal to 85 in 19.2 overs. 

This emphatic win helped them take their tally to six points and enter the Super Eights as the second best team from group D. 

T20 World Cup Super Eights: Who plays whom? 

The Super Eight groups were finalised after Bangladesh's convincing 21-run victory over Nepal in the 37th group-stage game at St Vincent. 

While group-1 comprises Bangladesh alongside India, Australia and Afghanistan, West Indies, South Africa and USA are placed in group 2 along with defending champions England.

The Super Eight stage begins on June 19, with the United States taking on South Africa at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. While England will face West Indies in their first game, India will take on a spirited Afghan side the same day at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. 

The mouth-watering encounter between Australia and Bangladesh is scheduled in Antigua, while the high-profile contest between South Africa and England will take place in St Lucia. 

Besides the India vs Australia clash, the eyes will be on the game between West Indies and South Africa as it is expected to be a pivotal game in determining the semifinalists.
