Defending champions England have qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup after defeating Namibia and benefiting from Australia's victory over Scotland.

England's performance in the group stage was tense, but they managed to withstand the pressure and secure a spot in the Super Eight of the T20 World Cup.

After rain affected abandoned game against Scotland and a loss to Australia, England found themselves in a tough position, needing significant wins and hoping for Scotland to lose their remaining games.

Target one - Oman

England started their comeback with the win against Oman. Batting first, Oman was all out for 47 runs in 13.2 overs. England chased down the target in just 3.1 overs, significantly improving their NRR. Adil Rashid, who took 4 wickets, was named the man of the match.

There was a chance of rain affecting the game against Oman, similar to the Scotland match. As predicted, rain did come, raising the possibility of a washout. However, after the rain stopped, a 10-over game was played.

England scored 122-5 in their 10 overs, thanks to contributions from Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow. In response, Oman managed 84-3 in their 10 overs, and England won by 41 runs according to the DLS method.

Australia win helped England

Australia chased down Scotland's target of 181 runs with two balls remaining in the final group game. At one point, Scotland appeared to have a winning chance, but Australia staged a comeback to secure the victory.

Earlier Australian player Josh Hazlewood and former Test captain Tim Paine caused controversy by suggesting it would be acceptable for Australia to lose to Scotland to eliminate England.

However, nothing came of the controversy as Australia comfortably beat Scotland, and England completed their comeback.
