James Anderson, the legendary English pacer is all set for one of the toughest challenge in international cricket - a five-match Test series against in India. James Anderson is one of the few overseas pacers who have excelled in Indian conditions and played a vital role in England's historic Test series win in India in 2012.

This five-match Test series will start at on 25th of January at Hyderabad and James Anderson despite his lacklustre performances in the Ashes 2023, is pretty confident of delivering the goods.

Anderson told Telegraph that has donned the mentor role for quite some time now and he knows his role as a senior player in the side and added that it is his duty to pass on information and insights to players around him.

'"That has been my role over the recent past anyway is stepping into that mentoring role as a senior figure. I have a duty to pass on information to people."

Anderson also emphasised on the fact that his role as a seamer changes in Indian conditions and reverse swing plays a big part in Indian conditions. He also revealed that there could be instances where they will have to open bowling with spinners from both ends.

"Reverse swing will play a big part. There might be occasions where we don't open with a seamer. We might open with two spinners. Your role changes a huge amount then, you come on third or fourth change with set batsmen in. That is the challenge of playing in India."

Anderson also feels that he has lot to offer to the current English Test side and stated that he would not play for the country, if he feels that he doesn't have anything to offer for England.

"I still feel like I've got a lot to offer this team. I would not still be doing what I'm doing if I didn't feel like that."

India won the four-match Test series by a 3-1 margin when last time England toured India and it would be interesting to see how the Ben Stokes-led England with their 'Bazball antics' tackle the Indian threat this time around.
