BCCI ends silence on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma's domestic participation

The two veterans - Virat and Rohit Sharma are committed towards playing the 2027 ODI World Cup and doing their bit to stay fit. There were doubts whether the duo would play domestic cricket, because the BCCI and Indian management are pushing every contracted cricketer to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy to secure a place in the team.

After a week of speculation, the duo finally confirmed their availability, sparking a debate that the apex cricket board of India is forcing players to play domestic cricket. Meanwhile, in the latest events,  as reported by Revsportz stated that a board official has confirmed to them that there has been no such directive from the board compelling players to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and that it was the players' own wish and desire to take part in the upcoming domestic event.

"They have decided, it's their decision," the BCCI official said to Revsportz and quoted by NDTV.
