Rishabh Pant made a Test comeback to remember on Saturday by notching a spectacular century for India while playing in Chennai against Bangladesh. The 26-year-old, who had not played a single red-ball cricket since that horrific injury, also matched MS Dhoni's record.

It was Pant's sixth Test hundred, and he took 58 innings to reach there. Dhoni, on the other hand, had six hundreds in red-ball cricket for the country. Wriddhiman Saha, another classy wicket-keeper for India, is third on the list of most Test centuries by India wicket-keepers with three centuries in 54 innings.

Most Test Hundreds By India Wicket-Keepers In Test Cricket

  • 6 - Rishabh Pant (58 innings)
  • 6 - MS Dhoni (144 innigs)
  • 3 - Wriddhiman Saha (54 innigs)

Pant smashed 13 fours and four sixes in his entertaining 128-ball 109 before Mehidy Hasan Miraz caught and bowled to end his stay. India, riding on Pant's century and Shubman Gill's 176-ball 119, closed on 287/4 before Rohit Sharma declared their innings, and set a mammoth 515-run target.

When Did Rishabh Pant Score His Last Test Hundred?

Rishabh Pant's last Test hundred came against England in Birmingham in 2022. It was fifth and final Test between India and England, and Pant smashed a sublime 111- ball 146, which had 19 fours and four sixes, to take India to 416 in the first innings.

However, Pant's century went in vain, as England, led by Ben Stokes, made a mockery of the 375+ run chase with seven wickets to spare. In that game, Pant made an instant impact in the second innings as well, making 57 off 86 balls.
