The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are playing against the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 23rd match of the CPL 2024, which is being hosted by Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Early Struggles of Warriors

The Falcons won the toss ahead of the game and put the Warriors into bat. The pitch at Providence Stadium has favoured the bowlers. The slow nature of the wicket has not allowed the batters to play their strokes freely. The batters' struggles were evident in the Warriors' innings, as they managed to score only 19/1 in the first six overs of their innings. 

While the other batters were struggling to get going, Azam Khan was holding one end for them and progressing steadily. In the ninth over of the innings, Khan hit a wonderful six against Fabian Allen. 

Azam Khan fell after a promising start

Allen bowled a tossed-up delivery at the fourth stump line. Azam Khan stepped down the track and lofted the ball over the covers with the inside-out shot for a maximum. 

After a string of failures in the tournament, it looked like Khan would play a significant knock here. However, Hassan Khan, the former Pakistan under-19 skipper, accounted for the batter in the next over. 

On the second delivery of the tenth over, Hassan bowled a good length delivery outside the off stump. Azam Khan tried to back away from the line of the ball and heave it over the deep cover fielder. However, all he managed was a connection from the toe end of the bat to be caught by Kofi James in the deep. Azam had to return to the hut with 29 runs off 24 deliveries.
