Indian team head coach Rahul Dravid acknowledged the fans' disappointment after India's loss in the World Cup final but highlighted the team's fantastic tournament. Dravid expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support in every venue and emphasised that the team provided joy and entertainment throughout the tournament.

Australia secured a historic sixth ODI World Cup title with a commanding seven-wicket victory over India in the final. Opener Travis Head played a pivotal role, smashing an impressive 137 runs to lead Australia's successful chase of 241 with seven overs to spare.

Despite India's initial dominance, reducing Australia to 47/3, Head and Marnus Labuschagne orchestrated a remarkable comeback. Head's century in the ODI World Cup final, coupled with Labuschagne's unbeaten 58, formed a match-winning 192-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Following the match, Dravid assumed responsibility during the press conference to analyze his team's display in the final and the entire tournament.

The former Indian captain acknowledged that fans might be disheartened by the team's performance in the final but emphasised the immense joy the team provided throughout the tournament.

"The fans have to see that the Indian team had a fantastic tournament. The fans backed us in every venue and I can say we entertained them. Yes, there will be disappointment but we gave them a lot of joy in this tournament. To play in front of them and play this brand of cricket, it has been a privilege,"  said Indian team head coach Rahul Dravid.

The Indian team, touted as overwhelming favorites, suffered a humiliating defeat in the all-important final match, showcasing exceptional captaincy from Pat Cummins and Head's record-breaking performance.

With more than 1,20,000 fans filling the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, expectations were high for an Indian victory. However, Australia's clinical performance dashed the hopes of the home crowd, securing a resounding seven-wicket win and solidifying their status as the World Giants.
