In the history of Indian cricket, an all-rounder like Yuvraj Singh is rare, as even after years of his retirement is still under the scanner. From clinching the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup to battling cancer and making a triumphant return to the field, the Indian all-rounder proved himself a true warrior.

As the star Indian player made headlines for his greatness, his father often caught the air due to his bold remarks. This time, his bold take on Virat Kohli’s captaincy once again sparked a wave of controversy.

Yograj Singh’s Big Allegation On Kohli

Making his debut for Team India in 2000, the team found its most trustworthy all-rounder in Yuvraj Singh. Carving his legacy across the formats, he has become a legend. While his bonds with teammates often drew attention, his heroic comeback after conquering cancer captured the spotlight more.

Yograj Singh, father of Yuvraj Singh, often targeted MS Dhoni regarding his son’s career. After Virat Kohli took the reins from MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh featured in only a few matches before announcing his retirement in 2019. In Kohli’s captaincy, he played 11 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

In an exclusive chat with InsideSport, his father was questioned whether Kohli could have supported Yuvraj during his captaincy era. Yograj Singh’s bold remarks on Virat Kohli sparked fresh controversy.

“As I told you, there are no friends in the sphere of success, money, and glory. There were always backstabbers, people who wanted to put you down. People were scared of Yuvraj Singh because they were afraid where he would usurp their seats because he was such a great player created by the God Almighty. He has been the greatest of players, who they were scared – right from MS Dhoni, everybody – ‘oh he might take my chair',” he said.

Amidst all the success in Yuvraj Singh’s career 2011 World Cup win at the Wankhede Stadium will always be iconic. In 304 ODIs, he scored 8701 runs and secured 111 wickets with 14 centuries and 52 half-centuries. In 58 T20I matches, he scored 1177 runs and secured 28 wickets. With an unmatched legacy and indomitable spirit, Yuvraj Singh will forever remain a superstar of Indian cricket.
