After the abandonment of the first T20I, the Indian team tasted defeat at the hands of the South African side in the second game of the series played at St George's Park in Gqeberha, where conditions were a little bit tough for batting in the first half due to overcast conditions, while in the second innings, it became more challenging to bowl because of the dampness of the outfield.

India scored 180 for the loss of seven wickets before rain fell down with just three balls remaining in their innings. When the match started again, the home side required 152 to win in 15 overs, which they achieved with seven balls to spare.

Men in Blue's skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored a fighting 56, whereas youngster Rinku Singh smashed the Proteas bowlers for his superb 68*. However, the African batters took the Indian bowlers to cleaners in the powerplay with 66 in the first five overs.

Speaking during the post-match presentation, Surya explained that the opposition's initial burst with the bat took the game away from them. Further, adding that it became tough to bowl due to the wet outfield, but was still an excellent lesson for them going forward.

“I think it was a par score. But they batted beautifully in the first 5-6 overs and took the game away from us. I mean that’s the brand of cricket we were talking about wanting to play. Just play fearless cricket despite losing wickets. It was tough but I told the boys that we are coming out of the comfort zone and these situations can arrive in the future. The mood is always happy. Full of loud and cheer. I always say whatever happens on the ground, leave it on the ground. Really looking forward to the next game."

After this loss, India will next engage in the last and final match of the series when they face each other on 14th December at Johannesburg.
