IPL 2024 To Have New Sponsor? BCCI Invites Tenders For The Title Rights

As the preparations for the IPL 2024 get underway with the auctions on December 19, 2023, the BCCI, along with the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have invited tenders for the title sponsor rights for the IPL season 2024-28. Previously, Tata had title sponsorship rights for the last couple of seasons.

As Tata's tenure as the title sponsor of the IPL ended with the last season, the IPL council has issued a media advisory to invite bids from reputed entities for acquiring the title sponsor rights for the Indian Premier League seasons 2024-2028.

The BCCI has stated that the interested parties can make the non-refundable payment of INR 5,00,000 following the procedure mentioned in Annexure A.

Tata, being the previous sponsor, holds the authority to use the 'right to match' so the BCCI have stated that the interested parties, despite making the highest bid, could lose the chance if Tata uses RTM, as stated in Annexure C.

While there have been many title sponsors for the world's most prestigious league, the IPL, from the 2024 season on, there could be a new sponsor if Tata opts out and doesn't use the Right to Match. Tata is still the front-runner to grab the sponsorship rights for the upcoming IPL season.

DLF, Pepsi, Vivo, Dream 11, and Tata—all of them have been the premium sponsors of the league for a considerable amount of time. The fans are still obsessing over the times when DLF was the title sponsor for the IPL when the league was inaugurated.
