Former Pakistan captain and celebrated batter Babar Azam opened up on his recent struggles with form and said he has more milestones to achieve and is nowhere close to being a perfect player. Azam also addressed how he deals with the low phase during lean patches.

The past few months have been extremely difficult for acclaimed Pakistani batter Babar Azam. Runs dried up from his willow during the ODI World Cup as the men in green finished outside the knockout stage.

Subsequently, Babar Azam relinquished captaincy responsibility to devote focus to his batting prowess. However, Babar Azam ran out of luck as his form stayed subpar during the Test series against Australia. While Babar did score back-to-back fifties against New Zealand in the T20 series, he failed to guide his side to victories.

Now, ahead of the T20 World Cup, the batter is determined to rediscover his dominant self. He is currently playing BPL for Rangpur Riders and will feature in PSL later this month.

Meanwhile, in a conversation with Cricbuzz, Babar Azam opined a batter will be left stranded if he is satisfied with himself. He wants to push boundaries and improve his skills with every opportunity that he gets.

The former captain further added that he is not satisfied with his current stature in international cricket. Babar Azam has plenty of records to his name, however, he feels, he has a lot more milestones to achieve before being called one of the greatest batters in Pakistan's cricketing history.

Furthermore, Babar Azam opened up on how he deals with rough patches and low phases. The batter said he seeks help from a lot of people and stays in touch with whom he deems useful. But at the end of the day, Babar feels the hunger to induce a change should come from within. And in sports, failures are found to happen.

Thus, Babar Azam is taking this lean patch as a learning curve to mature as a batter and hopefully end his career as one of the greatest Pakistani batters of the modern-day generation.
