Shoaib Malik has managed to grab the headlines for all the wrong reasons this year. After leaving BPL mid-season, citing prior commercial commitment, Malik will be seen hosting a talk show with ILT20 team Desert Vipers in the coming days.

The Pakistan veteran cricketer landed in hot waters when Shoaib Malik announced his third marriage with actress Sana Javed earlier this month. His decade-long marital bliss with Indian tennis player Sania Mirza was back in focus as Malik was shamed for cheating on Mirza.

Just weeks later, Malik was caught in the whirlwind of another controversy, after he bowled three consecutive overstepping no-balls in the BPL 2024 season. The unnatural deliveries caught the fans’ eyes as many raised allegations of spot-fixing.

To further add fuel to the fire, Shoaib Malik announced his abrupt departure from the tournament, citing personal reasons, and returned to Dubai. Many speculated that Fortune Barishal perhaps terminated Malik’s contract over fixing suspicions.

However, Shoaib Malik pleaded innocence and issued a statement saying he had prior commitments to attend to in Dubai.

Amid the fiasco, ILT20 team Desert Vipers released a trailer of a talk show hosted by Shoaib Malik. Titled ‘Vipers Straight Up with Malik, ’ the talk show will showcase the veteran Pakistani all-rounder interacting with the Vipers players up close and personal.

The show is expected to be released in an episode format. However, the exact date of the release is yet unknown.

It’s safe to assume Malik dropped out of BPL 2024 to attend his prior commitments to Desert Vipers. ILT20 is running parallel to BPL, and thus, the conflict of dates led to utter confusion.

That being said, Desert Vipers comprises several Pakistani players, including Shaheen Afridi, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amid and others. Thus, Shoaib Malik serves as a perfect host to conduct this promotional talk show.
