Gavaskar Raises Sharp Question On Pahalgam Tragedy

As the India-Pakistan relationship has always been scrutinized, the recent mishap added another twist to it. The Pahalgam terrorist attack has shaken the world as the bloodbath at the serene valley has scarred on hearts of millions worldwide. On Tuesday, 26 innocent people were brutally killed in the valley of Pahalgam, and that pushed some quick actions over the neighbouring country after that horrific incident.

As the cricketing world mourned the tragic Pahalgam attack, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar didn’t hold back. He shot a point-blank question over the long-standing Kashmir conflict, calling out the decades of unresolved tension between the two neighbouring nations.

“I send my condolences to all the families who have lost their loved and dear ones. It has affected all of us Indians. I just want to ask a question to all the perpetrators, and all those who backed them (the terrorists), their handlers - What has all this fighting achieved? For the last 78 years, not one millimetre of land has exchanged hands, is it? So for the next 78,000 years, nothing is going change. So why don't we live in peace instead, and make our country strong? So that is my appeal,” Gavaskar questioned.

Cricket World Grieves Over Heartbreaking Incident

The heartbreaking incident brings the entire world closer as millions of people mourn the tragic incident. People from 14 states across the nation lost their lives in that horrific incident. Along with the death numbers, the injury list is growing long as the nation witnessed another horrific terrorist attack following the Pulwama attack in 2019.

In this tough time, the cricketers backed the nation. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Irfan Pathan, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami expressed deep sorrow over the mishap, and the list is long.
