Virat Kohli is in red-hot form again! The RCB superstar is scoring runs quickly, and in the 42nd match of the season, he notched up another fifty, making it his 111th T20 half-century. He looked set for a century, but ended up losing his wicket against Jofra Archer and fell for 70 from 42 balls.
Virat Kohli's Last IPL Century Ended In Losing Cause vs RR
Virat Kohli has overall eight centuries in IPL, and the last one of those came against Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 season. It was at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur, and Kohli scored an unbeaten 113 off 72 balls. It was his slowest century in the IPL as it came in 67 balls and was the joint-slowest in the IPL.
He stayed unbeaten in that innings, and hit 12 fours and four sixes, and played some lovely shots against both pacers and spinners. He also hit Yuzvendra Chahal for two sixes in that knock, but failed to up the ante in the middle overs. RCB eventually managed to score 183, and apart from Kohli it was Faf du Plessis who scored 44 from 33 balls.
It was also Kohli's first century against RR in IPL history, but it did not prove enough as Sanju Samson's boys got over the line in the final over with six wickets in hand.
In this season, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 62 against RR in a successful run-chase, and now with another fifty in Bengaluru, he has once again shown his liking for the Royals from Rajasthan.
