Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar seems to be enjoying the ongoing IPL 2025 season to its fullest, not just for its on-field cricketing action but also for its off-screen adventures. Part of the commentary panel, Gavaskar was spotted “dancing” alongside Champak, a robotic dog introduced by the IPL this season to enhance fan engagement and bring a futuristic flair to the tournament’s broadcast experience.

The hilarious scenes were captured on camera in Bengaluru prior to RCB’s IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals.

Prior to RCB’s home fixture against Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru on Thursday, April 24, prominent commentator Sunil Gavaskar was spotted having a fun time with Champak, a quadruped robotic dog introduced by the IPL as a novel addition to the broadcasting team.

Gavaskar even danced with the dog for a few seconds, and was spotted running away from the robot at one stage of the footage.

As far as cricket is concerned, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first. For the RCB, opening batter Phil Salt belted 26 runs from 23 balls at the top before getting trapped by Wanindu Hasaranga in the seventh over of the match.

Virat Kohli got off to a splendid start as the RCB reached 83-1 around the halfway stage of the innings. The match marks a must-win one for the Rajasthan Royals as another defeat at this stage of the IPL 2025 season will pretty much end their playoffs ambitions.
