In the ongoing IPL edition, the fans are enjoying some unmissable T20 action. However, the SRH fans are still waiting for the momentum to celebrate their victories as the franchise is struggling with its form. Their latest loss to the Mumbai Indians only added to the growing frustration.

As questions were raised about SRH’s poor performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Daniel Vettori reflected on their current form. Drawing inspiration from Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s resilience, Vettori is rallying his team to bounce back stronger.

How Can SRH Learn From RCB?

After a blasting start, Sunrisers Hyderabad started facing setbacks and which impacted their position on the points table. As SRH struggles with form, coach Daniel Vettori highlighted RCB’s strong comeback in the last year as a lesson to learn from.

In 2024, RCB pulled off an incredible turnaround by reaching the playoffs despite winning only one of their first eight games. They bounced back with six consecutive wins, showcasing a stunning comeback. As the SRH are also struggling with their form, Daniel Vettori urged them to take inspiration from the franchise.

“There's been a lot of teams that find themselves in this situation, and there's been a few teams that were able to resurrect their seasons [in the past]. You look back to RCB last year after a difficult start,” he said.

“So if we can take inspiration from a team like them, and Mumbai's done it on a few occasions, but ultimately, it's just going to take one performance, and we haven't been able to put a collective performance bar the two games we've won. We've got to improve dramatically in all three facets,” Vettori added.

SRH’s Playoff Path Turns Uncertain

Last year’s runner-up up the Sunrisers Hyderabad, is having a forgettable season this year. Out of eight matches, the Pat Cummins-led side has only registered 2 victories and faced 6 defeats. With that, they are standing in the 9th position of the points table with 4 points and a net run rate of -1.361.

As the tournament intensifies, SRH’s path to the playoffs has become a tricky one. In all six remaining matches, if they registered victories, and collect 16 points, the net run rate will be a major concern. Another defeat would limit SRH to a maximum of 14 points, likely ending their playoff hopes, with several teams still in the race to hit 16. Keeping all those calculations in mind, they will be eyeing for a stronger bounce back.
