'Rohit Sharma Yet Again...'- Ravichandran Ashwin Drops A Huge Compliment

India’s veteran spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin heaped massive praise for Rohit Sharma following the latter’s sensational 121-run knock in the third T20I against Afghanistan on Wednesday in Bangalore. 

Rohit Sharma came into the third T20I on the back of two consecutive ducks in the first and second match of the series. But, the Indian skipper wreaked havoc with the bat in the third game and went on to register his highest T20I score.

In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Ashwin explains why he hails Rohit Sharma as the ‘Boss’ of the Indian Cricket Team. 

“Rohit Sharma yet again proved why he is the boss. He has arrived in the same mode that he played the ODI World Cup. He got two ducks, one of which was a run out, and one showed intent for the team. He yet again played for the team and got a century to his name,” Ashwin said.

‘Impossible to bowl to a set Rohit Sharma’ - Ashwin

Ashwin credited Rohit's ability to adapt to the situation when the team was in all sorts of trouble in the powerplay against Afghanistan. 

“The most notable point of the match was Rohit’s innings was, when the team was floating at 30/4, he buckled down and adapted to the situation and went nuts at the back end of the innings. I have said this before, it’s impossible to bowl to a set Rohit Sharma in the last four overs, whoever the bowler is,” Ashwin added. 

After the conclusion of India's last T20I assignment before the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma is on a short break before the five-match Test series versus England and the forthcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
