India’s one of the biggest match-winners, Yuvraj Singh, recently, claimed that his friend and former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehru denied him a job at Gujarat Titans.

Yuvraj Singh is a big name in Indian cricket. He represented India in 304 one-day internationals and has scored 8701 runs at an average of 36.56. During his international cricket career, he, single-handedly won India a lot of matches.

Yuvraj Singh played a massive role in helping India win the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup. He also earned the Man of the tournament award in the 2011 World Cup, making vital contributions with both bat and ball.

The veteran cricketer, currently, spends most of his time with his family and playing Golf. In a conversation with PTI, Yuvraj Singh, recently, expressed his desire to take up coaching duties in the future.

The 42-year-old also revealed that he asked for a job from Ashish Nehra at Gujarat Titans but the latter denied him, upfront.

"Let's see what opportunities I get, but my priority is my kids right now. Once they start school, I will have more time. so I can pick up (coaching). I love working with the young guys, especially my state boys, and I feel that mentoring is something that I would love to do, and definitely to be part of one of the IPL teams, I'm definitely looking at," said Yuvraj as quoted by PTI.


"I asked Mr Ashish Nehra (Gujarat Titans) for a job, but he declined it. So, let's see where else I can get a position, but at the moment, I have to balance. So, definitely in the coming years, I want to give back to cricket and help the young guys get better. I can contribute a lot," he added.

Ashish Nehra is currently serving as the head coach of Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. Under him, Gujarat Titans lifted the IPL trophy in their first very season. In the second outing, they, once again, reached the final but lost to CSK in the summit clash.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Shubman Gill has been appointed as the new skipper. Gill has a season to remember last year. In 17 matches played in IPL 2023, Shubman Gill amassed 890 runs at a staggering average and strike rate of 59.33 and 157.80, respectively.
