A tragic incident shook the nation on Tuesday when terrorists opened fire at a popular tourist spot in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, killing at least 26 innocent people and injuring many others. The terror group The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for this horrifying attack.
The heartbreaking news left the world stunned. People from all walks of life, cricketers, actors, politicians came forward to express their grief and stand in solidarity with the victims.
BCCI Mourns Pahalgam Terror Attack
To honor the victims, the BCCI made a strong gesture during the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. There were no fireworks, no cheerleaders and all players wore black armbands as a mark of respect.
SRH Captain Pat Cummins Shares His Thoughts
Pat Cummins, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, also spoke with a heavy heart after the match. He said:
"Yeah, it's been heartbreaking to see. From all of us at Sunrisers and also from all the Aussies who are loved here in India, our hearts go to all the victims and the families of all those that have been affected."
Hardik Pandya, captain of Mumbai Indians, also shared his sorrow both on social media and during the match. After winning the toss, he took a moment to express:
"I would like to pass on the message and condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the terrorist attack. Our team strongly condemns these acts."
