Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are having a tough time in this year’s IPL. Out of their 8 matches so far, they’ve only won 2 and lost 6. With just 4 points, they are at the very bottom of the points table, sitting in 10th place. This poor performance has surprised many, especially since CSK has won the IPL five times in the past. Their recent loss to Mumbai Indians (MI) has made their chances of reaching the playoffs very slim.

Kasi Viswanathan Shows Faith In CSK After Poor IPL 2025 Performance

Despite all the criticism, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan is still confident in his team. Speaking at an event in Chennai, he admitted that this season has been disappointing, but he still believes the team can bounce back. He said:

“All of you will be a little bit disappointed with the performance of CSK this year. Of course, it's bound to happen. We have had this earlier also. We know that we are not playing good cricket as of now. But we hope that in the coming matches, we should be able to do better."

Viswanathan also praised players like Shivam Dube and spoke highly of MS Dhoni’s leadership. He believes that with Dhoni leading the team, it’s only a matter of time before CSK finds its rhythm again.

He also reminded fans of the 2010 IPL season. That year, CSK had lost five matches in a row early on but still managed to win the title in the end. He added:

“Of course, we remember the year 2010. We lost five games in a row and went on to win the cup. That was the first year we won the title. I am sure the boys are committed. The team is committed. I am sure we will come up with better performances in the upcoming matches."

CSK started this season with a win against Mumbai Indians, but things went downhill quickly. They lost five matches in a row against RCB (by 50 runs), RR (by 6 runs), DC (by 25 runs), PBKS (by 18 runs), and KKR (by 8 wickets). They finally ended the losing streak by beating LSG, but once again lost to MI in their latest match.

One major concern is that CSK has lost all their home games so far, which has made things even worse for the team.

Now, CSK has 6 matches left to try and turn things around. Their next match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 25 at their home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium. After that, they will face PBKS on April 30 and RCB on May 3.
