Former Pakistan cricketer and now commentator Ramiz Raja made a funny mistake during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match on Tuesday, April 22, and it quickly became a talking point on social media.

Ramiz Raja Accidentally Drops IPL Name During PSL Live Match

The game was between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars in Multan, and it was a high-scoring thriller. After the match ended, Ramiz was hosting the post-match presentation. While giving out the ‘Catch of the Match’ award, he accidentally called the tournament “IPL” instead of “PSL.”

The award was meant for Joshua Little from the Multan Sultans, who took a great catch to dismiss Fakhar Zaman. While praising Little’s effort, Ramiz said:

“What a catch! Probably the catch of the HBL IPL.”

Yes, he said “IPL” instead of “PSL” on live TV! But the surprising part? He didn’t even try to correct himself. The clip went viral quickly, and social media was filled with memes and jokes about the blunder.

Sultans Finally Win After Three Big Losses

Coming to the match itself, Multan Sultans finally got their first win of the season after three big defeats. They defended a huge total of 228 runs and beat Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs.

Yasir Khan was the star of the show with a fiery 87 runs from just 44 balls, which earned him the Player of the Match title. Iftikhar Ahmed also chipped in with a quick 40 off 18 balls.

For Lahore, Sikandar Raza tried his best with a fighting 50 off 27 balls, but it wasn’t enough as his team only managed to score 195/9 in 20 overs.

A Rough Start for Multan

Before this match, Multan had a terrible start to the season. They lost their first three games badly, first against Karachi Kings by 4 wickets, then to Islamabad United by 47 runs, and a huge 120-run defeat against Peshawar Zalmi.

But in this match, things finally clicked. Young Ubaid Shah, just 19 years old, bowled brilliantly and took the key wickets of Fakhar Zaman, Daryl Mitchell, and Sam Billings, helping his team defend the big score successfully.
