Zaheer Khan has credited Rohit Sharma for bringing his main bowler Jasprit Bumrah into the attack when Joe Root had just arrived at the crease after Lunch on day 3 of the 2nd Test match in Vishakhapatnam.

In reply to India’s massive 396-run total, England batted brilliantly in the first session of Day 3. Even after Lunch, England kept scoring runs at a brisk pace until Axar Patel sent Crawley back to the hut.

Joe Root came to bat, thereafter, and skipper Rohit Sharma immediately handed the ball to Jasprit Bumrah. Indian pacer sent Joe Root back with an out-swinger and followed it with a terrific yorker that had Ollie Pope’s stumps rattled.

Thanks to those two wickets, India came back into the game in quick time. Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan lauded Rohit Sharma for bringing Jasprit Bumrah back into attack when Joe Root had just come out in the middle even as Ollie Pope was settling in.

"The move to bring back Jasprit Bumrah was a well calculated move. Rohit was proactive after Zak Crawley's wicket fell and he was aware enough to know that Root has just walked in, and Ollie Pope has done the damage in the previous innings, so bring in your best bowler, create the opportunity and Bumrah reacted beautifully to that opportunity," Zaheer said on Cricbuzz.

Jaspit Bumrah picks his 10th five-wicket haul in 2nd Test against England

India’s pace-spearhead produced a spell for the ages in the ongoing 2nd Test match against England. One of the greats in the modern-day game, Bumrah picked his tenth five-wicket haul against England in Vishakhapatnam.

His wonderful spell included the wickets of Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. India were in a pretty good position at 114 for 2 in pursuit of a 396-run total. However, Bumrah turned the game upside down with a wonderful spell after Lunch.

He had Root edge behind the stumps with a wonderful out-swinger and this was followed with one of the best yorkers to Ollie Pope. Pope had no chance to save his wicket on that delivery. Bairstow was Bumrah’s third victim.

Stokes was looking dangerous in the middle but the Indian speedster bowled a peach of a delivery to rattle Ben Stokes’ stumps. Thanks to that spell, England have lost nine wickets for 239 runs, still trailing by 157 runs.
