Indian cricket's linchpin, Virat Kohli, has hit a rough patch in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, managing only paltry scores of 1, 4, and 0 against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA respectively.

This slump in form is particularly startling given Kohli's explosive performance in the IPL 2024, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer.

Vikram Rathour backs Virat Kohli to regain form in T20 World Cup

Despite the underwhelming figures, India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour is non-chalant and confident about Virat Kohli's imminent turnaround.

During a recent press conference, which followed a washed-out match against Canada, Rathour addressed the concerns surrounding Kohli's form with assurance and optimism.

"I love it when every time I come there is a question about Virat Kohli, whether he is doing well or not. No concern at all, no concern at all," he stated emphatically.

According to Rathour, Kohli's practice sessions have been nothing short of impressive, indicating that the batsman's poor run is just a storm in a teacup and that his dismissals don’t mean he is out of form.

"He (Kohli) has been batting superbly from the tournament that he came from (IPL). Couple of dismissals here, doesn't change anything, he is batting really well,” added the 55-year-old.

Rathour further commented on Kohli's mindset, suggesting that the star batsman's hunger for runs has only intensified following his recent dismissals.

"Actually, it's good that he is a little hungrier, he is really keen to do well and really switched on. It's a good space to be as a batsman. Looking forward to some good games and we've watched some good innings from him," concluded Rathour.

As the T20 World Cup 2024 progresses into the Super Eight, all eyes will be on Kohli, with expectations high for a strong comeback.

Rathour’s belief in India’s batting mainstay suggests that fans might soon witness the resurgence of the batting maestro, ready to silence his critics with the bat.
