We don't often see Azam Khan run. However, the unthinkable happened on Sunday when Pakistan met Ireland in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Florida.

Despite coming to chase a paltry target of 107, Pakistan were in danger in the chase, losing wickets one after another. Shaheen Afridi then saved them to avoid humiliation, as his two sixes in the space of four balls won it for the Men in Green.

Babar Azam, who came to bat at No. 3, was at the non-striker’s end, remained not out on 32* off 34 balls.

Just after Shaheen’s first six, which had a distance of 87 metres against Gareth Delany, Azam was spotted running from the dugout to return the ball to the ground.

Pakistan, eventually, won the game with seven balls to spare, as they had three wickets in hand to get the job done. Shaheen remained unbeaten on 13* off 5 deliveries, as Pakistan finished just above Ireland at the end of Group stage.
