India's cricket team pacer Arshdeep Singh continues to make big strides in T20I cricket. He attributes much of his success to the invaluable support provided by ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah.

Arshdeep emerged as the top wicket-taker in the Super 8 clash against Australia. Opening the bowling for India, he was the standout performer, dismissing David Warner early to give India a strong start.

In his final spell, Arshdeep returned to remove both Matthew Wade and Tim David in the same over, effectively crushing Australia's hopes of winning the match. The left-arm seamer finished with impressive figures of three wickets for 37 runs in his four overs.

During the post-match press conference, Arshdeep praised Jasprit Bumrah for putting a lot of pressure on the batters, allowing him to bowl more freely and take wickets.

"I guess a lot of credit goes to Jasprit (Bumrah) because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters. He gives what, three or four runs an over. So, batsmen come hard against me, and when they try, I just focus on bowling my best ball, which increases the chances of getting wickets,"  said Arshdeep Singh.

Arshdeep now holds the record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, achieved during the Super Eight match against Australia in St. Lucia on Monday. He surpassed RP Singh’s 2007 World Cup tally of 12 wickets, now boasting 14 wickets in six innings in this edition.

The Punjab-born pacer made his T20 World Cup debut during the 2022 edition, where he took three wickets against Pakistan in Melbourne. He collected 10 wickets in six matches in that tournament.
