Heavy Rain Predictions In Guyana; Who Will Enter T20 WC Final If IND vs ENG Is Abandoned?

On Wednesday, India stunned Australia in a high-octane T20 World Cup clash, entering the semifinals with a convincing 24-run victory. Batting first, India posted a whopping 204-run total, which Australia failed to chase despite Travis Head's fireworks. So, moving forward, the Rohit Sharma-led outfit will face England in the second semifinal of the competition.

However, the much-anticipated clash is shrouded in uncertainty, with the looming threat of rain likely to disrupt the game at the Providence Stadium in Guyana

What if IND vs ENG is abandoned due to rain?

Accuweather.com says the chance of precipitation in Guyana on match day is as high as 88 per cent. So, if the forecast turns out to be accurate, the second semifinal might conclude in a washout.

If the game gets abandoned without a ball being bowled, India will qualify for the final as they topped the group-1 points table.

Notably, unlike the first semifinal, this match does not have a reserve day. However, if the weather gods stay kind to the teams and spectators, an additional 250 minutes can be used to complete the game.

So, England must be praying for clear skies, while India would happily take a washout fixture with both hands.
