With the 2024 T20 World Cup at stake, Afghanistan is crippled under pressure against Bangladesh. In a lowly 116-run chase, Bangladesh showed great intent and as AFG’s semi-final qualification chances slipped away, a furious head coach, Jonathan Trott, furiously kicked away a dustbin in the dugout.

The 2024 T20 World Cup campaign will be remembered for ages in Afghanistan’s cricketing history. They beat a mighty Australian side to keep their semi-final hopes alive. However, when it mattered the most, Rashid Khan and Co. succumbed under pressure.

Afghanistan met Bangladesh in a must-win game earlier today but failed to put up a competitive score on the board. A late collapse restricted AFG to just 115 runs before Bangladesh turned up with aggressive intent in the chase.

Notably, Bangladesh also had an outside chance at the semi-finals, and hence, they quickly scored runs.

Amid a nail-biting thriller, Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott had trouble keeping his emotions in check. With Afghanistan leaking runs with misfield, Trott was frustrated to the core and kicked a dustbin in sheer anger back in the dugout.

Jonathan Trott has been a key factor in Afghanistan’s rise in world cricket ever since he took up the head coaching position. He understands the stakes attached to this game, and in the heat of the moment, emotions were running high.

That being said, Afghanistan held their nerves and bundled out Bangladesh for 105 to clinch their berth in the semi-finals.
