Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hosted Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday evening and defeated them by 4 wickets on the second ball of the final over. Notably, the LSG speedster, Mayank Yadav made his return to the side after being out for 23 days with abdominal soreness.

The return for the young pacer was going well as he also dismissed Mohammed Nabi as he beat the Afghanistan veteran with pace on the first ball of the 19th over which was also the last over of his spell. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, following the wicket delivery, Yadav left the pitch with some discomfort.

With things unclear, Justin Langer, the LSG head coach was asked about Mayank's issue in his mid-game interview after the first innings. Langer told the broadcasters about things still not fully known and LSG wants to wait for the scans on Wednesday to know more.

"Looks like he's sore in the same spot. His rehab has been absolutely perfect and he bowled pain-free for the last few days. He's looking in great condition. We will have to wait for the scan tomorrow [to find out more]." Langer said.

The 21-year-old who missed out on the last one due to an injury has impressed everyone in his debut season with his 150 km/h rippers and commendable accuracy with the line and lengths so far, has taken 7 wickets in 12.1 overs across 4 games in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

He has also bowled the four fastest deliveries of this season's IPL, leading the charts with a 156.7 km/h ball against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, earlier in this season.
