On Monday, September 2, the inaugural edition of the Women's Delhi Premier League kicked off with East Delhi Riders Women taking on South Delhi Superstarz Women at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

East Delhi Riders Women registered an 11-run win to start the campaign on a high. The Riders, batting first, put 114 runs on the board courtesy of Pratika Rawal's 41 (38), which featured five fours and one six. 

In reply, The Superstarz came close but fell short of 12 runs to put 103 runs on the board. Despite starting the campaign on a negative note, they found a positive in Anshu Nagar.

Nagar hogged the internet after she made her Women's DPL debut as she is just 13 years old. Anshu impressed the critics with her bowling. She took two wickets in her three overs and gave away just eight runs. 

Another thing that is worth noting is that Nagar clocked 107 kmph on the speedgun at the age of 13. It is a good sign for India, as proper grooming can make Nagar one of the lethal bowlers in the future. 


All You Need To Know Women's Delhi Premier League?

For the inaugural season of Women's DPL, four teams East Delhi Riders, Central Delhi Queens, North Delhi Strikers and South Delhi Superstars will compete in a total of seven games starting from September 2. The final was played on September 8 with Arun Jaitely stadium being the common venue for the entire tournament.
