'Look At Kohli': Michael Vaughan's Advice For ENG To Improve White-Ball Game

Defending champions England had a woeful ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign bowing out of the competition in the group stages itself finishing seventh in the points table, behind Afghanistan and Pakistan.

A major drawback that England faced was their style of play, which imitated the 'Bazball' method, which failed miserably on tracks that needed a more steady approach.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan, who is known for his no-nonsense opinion advised Jos Buttler and Co on how to improve their One-Day game.

Writing in his column for The Telegraph, Vaughan urged England players to take a leaf out of Indian batter Virat Kohli's fitness routine, which puts him above the rest.

Here's what Vaughan wrote

"This relaxed, carefree attitude of the Bazballers has been great but it should not roll into white-ball games. In white-ball cricket you have to be fit, running between wickets and in the outfield. Look at Virat Kohli. He spends four hours running around in the field and then goes and bats for 3-4 hours and masterminds the chase. That is fitness,”

Kohli is known for his fitness and athleticism and has been a torchbearer in Indian cricket for years, focusing on not only his physical but mental health as well.

Buttler's next international assignment with England, will be a white-ball tour of West Indies, which will consist of three ODIs and five T20Is starting next month.
