After a failed run in defending their title in the World Cup 2023, England have named ODI and T20I squads for the Caribbean tour, which is slanted for December 2023. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has retained Jos Buttler as captain in both white-ball formats, whereas the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid have failed to regain their spot in the ODI setup.

Meanwhile, apart from the English skipper - promising young batter Harry Brook, T20 World Cup-winners Sam Curran & Liam Livingstone, and pacers Brydon Carse & Gus Atkinson have named in the ODI squad.

As the board's latest press release, only six players from England's failed campaign have been recalled to tour the West Indies next month.

Six players (Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone) remain from the squad that represented England at the ICC Men’s 50 Over World Cup in India," ECB's press release read.

"Uncapped seamers Josh Tongue and John Turner are included in both squads," it added.

Interestingly, experienced pros such as Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Chris Woakes have been clinged to the T20I setup, keeping the T20 World Cup 2024 in mind.
