It's easy to fall and quit, but not as easy to get back up, fight again, and win. Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma are prime examples of resilience, having overcome significant setbacks to ultimately achieve victory.

Rohit Sharma has long aspired to win a major tournament for India. Despite an outstanding performance in the 2019 World Cup, where he scored five centuries, India fell short in the semifinals. Similarly, under his captaincy in the 2023 ODI World Cup, India faced another heartbreaking loss in the final.

Rahul Dravid's journey was marked by similar challenges. As a player, he couldn't secure major trophies, and as a coach, he faced repeated disappointments until he teamed up with Rohit Sharma for the T20 World Cup, where they won for India.


During India's title celebrations, Rahul Dravid revealed how he almost quit after the 2023 ODI World Cup final loss. However, a phone call from Rohit Sharma restored his faith and inspired him to give it another shot in the T20 World Cup. Today, Dravid is grateful for that call from Rohit Sharma.

 "I wasn't sure on continuing after 50-over World Cup. Rohit called and said let's have one more crack. Truly grateful! One of the best phone calls I have received in my life"- Dravid spoke during India's World Cup title celebration.

Rahul Dravid has stepped down from his role as India’s coach, marking the end of an era. A new coach will soon lead the Indian team into its next phase. 

Nonetheless, Dravid will be remembered both as a legendary player and as a coach who guided India to a T20 World Cup victory.
