India suffered a 25-run defeat against New Zealand in the third and final Test of the series and were whitewashed 0-3 for the second time in their Test history at home.

Following the humiliating loss, the internet is buzzing with criticism and cries of ouster for India head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma. Talking about the Indian skipper, he too took the onus of defeat on his shoulders and remarked that he failed as a batter and captain.

Sachin Calls For Introspection Within Indian Team

Several cricket pundits too criticised the management for opting for a rank-turner and also blamed the players for their shot selection. The latest to join the bandwagon is India legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar, who usually gets active on social media to heap praises for the Indian team, put out a tweet asking the management to introspect the things that are going wrong.

"Losing 3-0 at home is a tough pill to swallow, and it calls for introspection. Was it lack of preparation, was it poor shot selection, or was it lack of match practice? @ShubmanGill showed resilience in the first innings, and @RishabhPant17 was brilliant in both innings— his footwork made a challenging surface look like a different one altogether. He was simply superb. Full credit to New Zealand for their consistent performance throughout the series. Winning 3-0 in India is as good a result as it can get," tweeted Sachin.

India Slip To 2nd Spot On WTC Standing

India faced consequences in the WTC points table. After 3 losses in a row, they have slipped below Australia to the number 2 slot, with a percentage of 58.33. Now they will play a five-match Test series against Australia and the Rohit Sharma-led side need to win at least four of the five matches.

India will face first Test in Perth on November 22 as Rohit Sharma is likely to miss the first Test.
