Pakistan are all set to face Australia in the upcoming three ODIs and three T20Is series. Ahead of this high-energy series, Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi and Australia great Mitchell Starc were spotted together clicking a selfie together. Both countries’ pacers, celebrated for their fast-bowling exceptional skills, shared the spotlight in the pre-series photoshoots as well at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia.

While, the hosts are entering the series on a high note, fresh from an ODI series victory over their arch-rivals England. The Men in Yellow are currently brimming with high confidence and will aim to replicate this same against Pakistan. Both Shaheen Afridi and Mitch Starc, though in different colours, will be focused on making a significant impact in this series.


The first 50-over clash between the two sides is set to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Monday, November 4.

Playing XIs Announced For The First ODI

On the eve of the first ODI clash, Pakistan revealed their playing XI. Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi will return to the playing XI after a short break, and Muhammad Irfan Khan and Saim Ayub will debut in this format. Pakistan’s side, having recently played a series of Test matches, will look to bring their best to the shorter format.

Pakistan playing XI: Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Kamran Ghulam, Salman Ali Agha, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain.

On the Australian side, it will be Pat Cummins, who will lead the team in his first ODI appearance since the 2023 World Cup win. In this series, Australia are without some key players, including Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head, on paternity leave and Cameron Green out due to injury, Australia have fielded a well-balanced lineup. Jake Fraser-McGurk will open with Matthew Short and Aaron Hardie, who showed excellent form recently is also a part of the playing eleven. Additionally, Lance Morris joins the squad as a fast-bowling backup, with Josh Hazlewood sitting out the first match.
