India recorded a thumping victory over England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Guyana as India makes its way to another ICC final where they will face South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

After being put in to bat by England, Rohit Sharma played another captain's knock on a tough surface, scoring 57 (39). Suryakumar Yadav's 47 (36) and cameos from the all-rounders helped India cross the 170-run mark.

Valiant efforts from Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav who both ended with three wickets helped India bowl England out at just 103, winning the match by 68 runs.

Rohit looked back on the efforts of the team and credited them for adapting to challenging conditions throughout the tournament.

"Very satisfying to win. We worked really hard as a unit and it was a great effort from everybody. We adapted really well, the conditions were challenging. That's been the success story for us so far."

On setting a par score in the mind while batting in the middle and the performances of Axar and Kuldeep Yadav.

"At one point, 140-150 looked good but me and Surya added some good runs so 20 more felt good. I had set a par score in the mind but didn't tell it. They are all instinctive players and I wanted them to play freely. They [spinners] were very calm under pressure. We had a talk about hitting the stumps mid-game and that's what they did fantastically," Rohit added.

The Indian captain also backed Virat Kohli after his poor run of form, counting on his experience.

"He is a quality player, we understand his class and importance in these big games. Form is never a problem when you've played for 15 years. The intent is there. He is probably saving it for the final," he concluded.

India will be playing their 3rd ICC T20 World Cup final against the first time finalists, South Africa to end their trophy drought on June 29.
