India and England will face off in the second semi-final in Guyana on June 27 and are expecting to see some rain interruptions in the morning with a 69% chance of precipitation. However, with no reserve day allocated to the game, the ICC has introduced a special 250-minute rule to try ensure the match doesn't get washed out.

The weather in Guyana has been a talking point ever since the fixture was set to play between the two heavyweights. With no reserve day given, fans and media were worried about whether or not they will get a full game at this crucial juncture of the T20 World Cup.

However, the ICC has taken the weather forecast into consideration as they introduce the special 250-minute rule to ensure a result, in case of rain delay or interruptions.

Why Is There No Reserve Day For Semi-Final 2 Between India And England?

With the semi-final 2 being played on the morning of June 27 and the final on the morning of 29th, ICC did not want the winner of the game to wait for another day, play the game on the 28th, and travel to Barbados and play the final on the morning of the 29th. Hence, no reserve day was issued for the match in Guyana and the 250-minute rule was introduced.

What Is The 250-Minute Rule?

Ahead of the T20 World Cup semi-finals, the ICC announced that additional 250 minutes will be available for the knockout fixtures to ensure the completion of the matches in case of any hold up due to weather. However, the final on June 29 will be having a reserve day on June 30.

What Will Happen If The India v England Match Washes Out Despite The 250-Minute Rule?

In a situation where the result of the match is impossible due to the weather, India will go past England to play the final against South Africa due to qualifying at the top of their Super Eights group with 3/3 wins.
