After a break since the T20 World Cup 2024 final in June, India ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah made an exciting return to cricket. Playing in India’s ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 20, he took four wickets for just 50 runs. His outstanding performance made him the top wicket-taker in the first innings, reminding everyone of his talent.

What really caught people’s attention was not just Bumrah’s bowling but also his brief time at the crease. Jasprit Bumrah stepped onto the crease during the second day’s play as the No. 10 batsman. With a calm demeanour, he scored seven runs off nine balls, featuring a well-timed boundary. 

Interestingly, he was the last Indian batter to be dismissed in the first innings, a detail that added to his performance narrative. Notably, the 30-year-old pacer batted with a bat that bore no sponsor sticker—a curious choice that didn’t go unnoticed.

At the end of the day’s play, Bumrah delivered a cheeky message to potential bat sponsors. With a hint of humour, he remarked, “I have scored some runs now. If anyone is looking, they know how to contact me.” This playful comment has since gone viral, sparking conversations on social media and bringing attention to the significance of sponsorships in cricket.

Bumrah Becomes Sixth Indian Bowler To Take 400 International Wickets

Bumrah’s achievements didn’t stop there. He became the sixth Indian pacer to take 400 international wickets across all formats, achieving this feat in just 227 innings. This places him among an elite group of Indian bowlers, alongside legends like Kapil Dev and Mohammed Shami, both known for their remarkable careers.
