One day every Indian cricket lover will never forget and cherish for lifetime is when Rohit Sharma and his team lifted the T20 World Cup 2024. On June 29, the atmosphere was electrifying in Barbados after India defeated South Africa in a nail-biting final.

Jay Shah's Huge Prediction For T20 World Cup 2024

After the historic victory, one could not forget the golden words of Shah, which he stated after India's heartbreak in the 2023 ODI World Cup. ICC Chairman Jay Shah's bold prophecy months ago became the talk of the cricketing world after India lifted the silverware.

So, as Shah celebrates his Birthday today (September 22), let's recall his words that came true in front of our eyes as Men in Blue propelled India to make history.

"Everybody had been waiting for my statement on the World Cup. In 2023, India did not win the World Cup after winning 10 matches straight, but we won hearts. But I want to make a promise that in 2024, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India will win the T20 World Cup in Barbados," Jay Shah said.

Talking about the match, the Indian team found themselves in a nail-biting situation, needing 30 runs off the last 30 balls to break an 11-year ICC trophy drought and secure their second Men’s T20 World Cup title. It was then that Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah rose to the occasion and delivered a stunning turnaround that left Indian fans jumping and cheering in their seats.

When jubilation and emotion panned out after the title triumph was sealed, former India head coach Ravi Shastri mentioned Shah's prophecy at Rajkot that came true in Barbados and even called him 'Nostradamus' on air.
