In the first over after drinks break, senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin delivered the early breakthrough for Team India by getting rid of a well-set Shakib Al Hasan (25 off 56) at 194-5. Ashwin also cut short Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s stay at the crease to record his 37th five-wicket haul in Test, thus equaling Australian spin wizard Shane Warne in the process.

Ravindra Jadeja also blazed into action by snaring the wicket of Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter and danger-man Litton Das for just a single as the tourists slipped to 222-7.
