India's renowned fast bowler Deepak Chahar believes that Chennai Super Kings will bring him back to their setup for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. Chahar, who was an integral part of the Super Kings' squad, was released by the franchise ahead of the mega auction.

'I think CSK will bid for me' - Deepak Chahar

However, Deepak Chahar is hopeful of a homecoming and expects the five-time champions to secure his services in the mega auction that will be held on the 24th and 25th of this month.

Speaking to The Times of India (TOI), Chahar highlighted how CSK bagged him for a whopping amount despite releasing him to the auction pool prior to the 2022 mega auction. The swing bowler also explained what makes him a valuable asset in an era when teams generally hammer plenty of runs in the powerplay itself.

"I was not retained by them in the last mega auction as well. But they went all out for me and bought me back. I don't know what will happen this year, but I know my skill will be valued more now given the fact that around 90-100 runs are being scored in the Powerplay and that's why the teams are scoring more than 200 more frequently. I have proved valuable I can be in limiting runs in that phase of the game," Chahar was quoted as saying by TOI.

Furthermore, the speedster expressed his eagerness to represent his state IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, if the Super Kings don't consider bringing him back.

"I think they will bid for me again. I would like to don the yellow jersey again and if not that, then I would want Rajasthan Royals to bid for me," Chahar added.

Deepak Chahar's Performance For CSK

In 76 IPL outings for CSK, Chahar has proved to be a match-winner, scalping 76 wickets at an average of 27.71. He is known for his incredible ability to swing the ball both ways; however, his career has been marred by injuries and fitness concerns, which he would like to fine-tune ahead of the next season.
