Afghanistan's experienced keeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz stood tall with the bat, powering his side to a commanding five-wicket victory over Bangladesh on Monday night. Bowling first, Afghanistan restricted the Tigers to a respectable 244-run total before Gurbaz's scintillating century and Azmatullah Omarzai's whirlwind finishing ensured their remarkable win.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz Breaks Kohli, Babar And Tendulkar's Record

Opening the batting for Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz slammed a glorious 101-run knock, playing a pivotal role in the hosts' series victory. Despite wickets tumbling at the other end, the swashbuckling right-hander kept his composure, forging a match-winning partnership with Omarzai for the fourth wicket.

The explosive wicketkeeper-batter smashed five fours and seven monstrous sixes for his superb innings. As soon as Gurbaz completed his eighth ODI hundred, he broke the records set by Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, bringing up his eighth ODI ton at a younger age than the batting greats.

Tendulkar was 22 years and 357 days old when he struck his eighth ODI ton, while Kohli and Babar achieved the illustrious feat at the age of 23 years 27 days and 23 years 280 days. South Africa's Quinton de Kock is the youngest batter to slam eight ODI hundreds, having unlocked the milestone when he was 22 years and 312 days old.
