So, the Perth Stadium's curator has given his verdict and it is not something the Indian batters will love to hear. As per the curator, a spicy deck awaits the visitors as the Aussies are leaving no stones unturned to defeat the under-confident Indian side.
India were expected to reach the WTC finals with ease, howeverm the plans got ruined when the visiting New Zealand side humbled them in their own backyard.
India are coming into this Test series on the back of an embarrassing defeat against the New Zealand team. The Kiwis inflicted a 3-0 whitewash as Rohit Sharma's men now need to beat the Aussies, 4-0 to seal their place in the WTC finals.
However, that won't be easy as the first Test of the series takes place at one of the fastest pitches in the world. The Perth Stadium is generally known for being a graveyard for the batters and the trend is likely to continue when the two teams will meet from November 22.
Perth Stadium pitch report: Seam, bounce and pace awaits India!
As per the curator of the Perth Stadium, the pitch will have significant movement, pace and bounce for the fast bowlers.
"This is Australia, this is Perth. I'm setting ourselves up for really good pace, really good bounce and really good carry," curator said, as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
Also, the curator added that there will be a 10mm-long grass covering to assist the fast bowlers and the pitch will stay firm for all the five days.
The pitch conditions remind fans of the situation during the Perth Test in 2018, where India lost the match. Barring Virat Kohli, who scored a brilliant hundred, the other batters failed to judge the pace and bounce of the pitch.
The 10mm-long grass will ensure that the ball skids through the surface and will come quicker onto the bat. Batters, who generally play on the back-foot will succeed at this surface. Apart from the lateral movement, there will be extra bounce and hit the deck bowlers will enjoy bowling here.
